Practice

What is CCS Orbit?

CCS Orbit is an iPhone-first USMLE Step 3 CCS practice app. Manage simulated patients, place orders, advance simulated time and review feedback across six clinical-management domains.

How many cases are included?

120+ CCS cases at launch. Three cases are free; Orbit Plus unlocks the complete library.

Does it work offline?

Cases and debriefs work offline.

How long does a case take?

CCS Orbit includes 10-minute and 20-minute cases. Allow extra time afterward to review your decisions and debrief.

Can I save a case and resume later?

Yes. Choose Exit, then Save & exit to save the patient state, orders and remaining time. Resume the saved case from Home.

What is the difference between Learn and Exam mode?

Learn mode provides guidance and real-time trap warnings. Exam mode suppresses teaching cues during the case; feedback is available in the debrief. Time only passes when you advance it in the simulation; the real-time case timer is separate.

How are cases scored?

Each case follows an authored clinical pathway. The debrief links your result to specific decisions, including what was missed, delayed, unsafe or completed in the wrong sequence. Your Decision Profile brings together six domains across completed attempts.

Access and pricing

Do I need an account?

No account required. You can complete the three free cases without signing up. Orbit Plus is available through Apple in-app purchases.

How much does CCS Orbit cost?

Three cases are free. Orbit Plus offers a 60-day Exam Pass for US$34.99 or lifetime access for US$59.99. These are the only two paid options. Both are one-time purchases with no automatic renewal or monthly subscription. Regional prices and applicable taxes appear in the App Store purchase sheet.

Do the Exam Pass and lifetime access include the same features?

Yes. Both unlock the complete case library and the same Orbit Plus features. The Exam Pass lasts 60 days from purchase; lifetime access has no expiry. Both are one-time purchases.

Is there a monthly subscription or automatic renewal?

No. CCS Orbit has only two paid options: the 60-day Exam Pass and Lifetime access. Both are one-time purchases. The Exam Pass expires 60 days after purchase; Lifetime access has no expiry. Neither renews automatically.

Can I restore my purchase?

Use Restore Purchases in the membership section with the Apple Account used for the purchase. An internet connection is required.

About Orbit

Is CCS Orbit affiliated with USMLE?

No. CCS Orbit is an independent educational product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by USMLE, NBME or FSMB.

Does Orbit reproduce the official scoring algorithm?

No. The official algorithm is proprietary. Orbit uses physician-reviewed training criteria. Training scores do not predict official examination results.

How is this different from UWorld’s CCS?

CCS Orbit focuses on CCS practice, with six-domain feedback, a management timeline and a Decision Profile across cases. UWorld combines CCS with broader Step 3 preparation, including its question bank and explanations.
